SSheila del Bosque Fuentes is a Cuban flutist, conductor, composer, and educator. A Haynes Artist, faculty member at the Interlochen Center for the Arts, and Chair of the Jazz Committee for the National Flute Association, her music blends contemporary and traditional Afro-Cuban elements with European and jazz influences.

She has performed with the Lyceum Mozartiano Orchestra of Havana, the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba, and the Cuban-European Youth Orchestra, appearing at international festivals including the Rheingau Musik Festival (Germany) and the Young Euro Classic Festival at the Konzerthaus Berlin. Her global career has brought her to concert stages in Cuba, Germany, South Korea, India, Mexico, Panama, and the United States.

As a conductor, Sheila has served as Assistant Conductor of the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra of Chile. She was recently selected as a 2024 Carlos Miguel Prieto Conducting Fellow with the Orchestra of the Americas and a 2025 Conducting Fellow at the National Orchestral Institute and Festival (NOI+F).

She is also a conductor for YOLA (Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles), affiliated with the LA Philharmonic, and the founder of The New Way Orchestra, an initiative promoting equity and innovation in classical music. She has led orchestras such as the Cincinnati Symphony, Boston Philharmonic, and Buffalo Philharmonic in renowned masterclasses.

Among her most distinguished honors are First Prize in the Jazz Artist Category at the 50th Annual National Flute Association Convention (Chicago, 2022), the Wayne Shorter Award for Creativity and Innovation from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute (Boston, 2023), and First Prize at the Keep an Eye International Jazz Competition (Netherlands, 2023).
