Łucja Chyrzyńska - Polish flutist born in 1998. In 2020 she received a bachelor’s degree in the flute class of Prof. Wiesław Suruło from The Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow. Currently she continues master’s degree studies at the same Academy.
As a soloist and chamber musician she won numerous awards and distinctions at national and international competitions, including: Grand Prize at World Classical Music Awards (UK); First Prizes at: the Las Conchillas International Music Competition (Chile), London International Music Competition (UK), III International Online Instrumental Performance Competition (Vienna), IX Stockholm International Music Competition (Sweden), 2nd SWISS International Music Competition (Switzerland), Tokyo International Youth Music Competition (Japan), 4th International Music Competition Citta di Sarzana (Italy), VIl Odin International Music Online Competition (Estonia), IMKA International Internet Music and Dance Competition (Bosnia), 12th World Open Online Music Competition (Serbia).
As an orchestral musician, she took part in many Polish and international projects, having worked with conductors such as Péter Eötvös, Tarmo Peltokoski, Tomáš Brauner, Paweł Przytocki, Maciej Tworek. In years 2014-2018, she was a member of Krakow Film Music Festival Youth Orchestra in which she held Principal Flute position from year 2016. In 2022 she played with Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. Apart from classical repertoire, she shows a great interest in performing contemporary music and she actively collaborates with composers and artists from other fields. She took part in many world premieres - as a soloist, in ensemble and as an orchestra member. Among other events, she performed during the Krakow International Festival of Composers (2015, 2016, 2018), International Festival of Contemporary Music Warsaw Autumn (2018), Krakow Film Music Festival (2014-2018), Summer Music Festival Wawel Royal Castle at Dusk (2022), Bendada International Music Festival (2022), New Music Concerts organised by The Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music.
She was granted The Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music Rector’s scholarship for the most talented students (2018, 2021, 2022). In 2019, she was the Erasmus+ programme participant, developing her skills in Sibelius Academy of Music in Helsinki, as a student of Prof. Mikael Helasvuo. In 2022 she was the jury member of student committee during 1st International Instrumental Miniature Competition for Wind Instruments held in Katowice, Poland.
In 2022 she became the Young Artist of the Wm. S. Haynes Co. Flute Company and is honoured to be a part of the Haynes family.
Currently Chyrzyńska studies at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in Riga in a flute class of Prof. Ilze Urbāne as an exchange student of the Erasmus+ programme.
In 2023 was awarded with the title of Young Talent of Tiziano Rossetti International Music Academy based in Lugano, Switzerland and is currently pursuing Career Project organised by the Academy under the guidance of Prof. Ildiko Juhasz.
She has been aided in her pursuit of perfecting the art of playing flute during master classes, music conferences and festivals under the guidance of outstanding flutists, such as: Patrick Gallois, Anna Garzuly-Wahlgren, Wally Hase, Andrea Oliva, Rafaele Trevisani, Gareth McLearnon, Johanna Dömötör, Helen Bledsoe, Hanna Kinnunen, Sarah Louvion, Renate Greiss-Armin, Paulo Taballione, Deijan Gavrić, Nuno Inácio, Marina Camponês, Barbara Świątek-Żelazna, Ewa Murawska, Agata Igras, Urszula Janik, Ewa Liebchen and Elżbieta Woleńska.
