Denizcan Eren
Born in Izmir (Turkey), Denizcan Eren graduated from the Bilkent High School of Music (Ankara) in the flute class of Stiliana Stavreva. He then studied flute with Sibel Pensel and obtained a bachelor’s degree at the Conservatoire de Nice. His studies have been generously aided by “Çağdaş Eğitim Vakfı” (Contemporary Education Foundation) an association in Turkey that supports Young Talent, and was also sponsored by QNB Finansbank Turkey for his Master’s degree studies in Felix Renggli’s flute class at the Basel Academy of Music in Switzerland. Denizcan has been an Akademist at world-renowned Karajan-Akademie of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under the tutelage and guidance of Emmanuel Pahud since April 2018.
Since 2007, he has performed professionally in numerous orchestras. These include the Berliner Philharmoniker, Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Chamber Academy Basel, Greek-Turkish Youth Symphony Orchestra and Ankara Youth Symphony Orchestra with conductors such as Kirill Petrenko, Paavo Jarvi, Matthias Pintcsher, Tugan Sokhiev, James Gaffigan, Gabor Takacs-Nagy and Gürer Aykal.
Denizcan has been invited to perform as a soloist numerous times in France, Switzerland, Turkey and Bulgaria – including with the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra, Les Flûtes d’Azur, Uetendorf Chamber Orchestra, Avrasya Philharmonic Orchestra and Sophia Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also given solo performances and recitals at several international festivals including the 2016 La Cote Flute Festival in Switzerland and 2016 French Flute Convention in Paris.
He is the winner of several international competitions:
1st prize at the “International Flute Competition of Izmir -Turkey” (2011),
1st prize at the Grande Motte Flute Competition, France (2013),
1st prize at the “International Competition of Flute and Piano of Monaco” (2014),
1st prize and the price of best performance of Jacques-Alphonse de Zeegant’s flute concerto at the “3rd International Flute Competition- Maxence Larrieu, Nice, France” (2015).
1st prize at the “Val-de-Travers International Flute Competitioni Switzerland” (2017)
Denizcan recently recorded a CD as part of his prize for the Maxence Larrieu Competition under the recording label “Le Chant de Linos” and in 2018, he was delighted to be selected as a “Haynes Young Artist” for Wm. S. Haynes Flute Company, in Boston.
